Ultra-fast Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT)
Victron Energy MPPT solar controllers are among the best in the world, offering ultra-fast MPPT tracking. Especially in overcast conditions with continuous changes in light intensity, this controller can increase solar yields by 30% compared to conventional PWM controllers or 10% compared to slow MPPT controllers. Particularly in cases of partial shading, multiple maximum power points can be present. Standard MPPT controllers tend to keep power at the local power point, which may not correspond to the optimal (maximum) power point.
Excellent efficiency up to 99%, with no unnecessary energy losses and quiet passive cooling without a fan.
Built-in Bluetooth Smart
You can monitor and configure the SmartSolar MPPT controller through your smartphone or tablet. You can track current statuses and historical data and adjust parameters using the VictronConnect mobile app, which is available for free on Google Play and the App Store.
If you prefer to perform these tasks on your PC, you can use a VE.direct to USB cable to connect the controller and PC. Simply install the Victron Connect program on your computer, which you can also download for free from the same address as mentioned above.
SmartSolar Plug-in Display (not included)
You can purchase an additional SmartSolar plug-in display as an accessory. The display fits into the connector on the front of the controller, allowing you to visualize all operational states and adjust parameters.
Remote On/Off Input
External devices can easily turn the controller on and off.
Built-in Programmable Relay
It can also be programmed using a mobile phone, for example, as an alarm relay.
Internal Temperature Sensor and Optional Battery Voltage and Temperature Monitoring via Bluetooth
For battery communication, you can use the "smart battery sensor" or the intelligent battery monitor BMV-712.
Recommended Configuration
The maximum power of the FV panels is 1000 Wp for 12 V systems, 2000 Wp for 24 V systems, and 4000 Wp for 48 V systems. If these values are exceeded, the controller will not be damaged but will automatically reduce incoming power from the panels to acceptable levels.
The maximum short-circuit current from the FV panels into the controller must not exceed 35 A, or permanent damage may occur.
The maximum open circuit voltage of the FV panels, referred to as Voc (voltage at no load), must not exceed 250 V, or permanent damage may occur. It's important to consider that Voc increases with decreasing temperature.
Flexible Charging Algorithm
Fully programmable charging algorithm and eight pre-programmed algorithms that can be selected using a rotary switch (see manual for details).
This more powerful range of solar controllers does not have a DC output. For connecting DC loads to the battery, we recommend using the "Battery Protect BP" with a maximum load current of up to 220 A.
Notice: Victron Energy MPPT controllers are not allowed to be used in combination with photovoltaic panel optimizers. Using them together can damage both the MPPT controllers and the optimizers, and this damage may not be recognized as valid warranty claims.
