The Orion-Tr Smart DC-DC charger is a professional adaptive three-stage DC-DC charger with built-in Bluetooth functionality.
It is designed for use in dual-battery systems in vehicles or boats, where the service battery is charged using an (intelligent) alternator and starter battery. The unit can be monitored and programmed via Bluetooth and remotely controlled using a remote on/off switch. The charger is also equipped with an engine-running detection mechanism.
The Orion-Tr Smart charger is suitable for both lead-acid and lithium batteries. Models up to 400 W are available. For increased output power, an unlimited number of units can be connected in parallel. It is suitable for operation at ambient temperatures up to 55 °C and at full rated output power up to 40 °C.
Bluetooth Smart connectivity
Any smartphone, tablet, or other device can be used to monitor, configure, and update the charger when new software features become available.
Fully programmable
- Configurable battery charging algorithm or constant output.
- Smart alternator compatibility: engine-running detection mechanism.
Adaptive three-stage charging algorithm: bulk – absorption – float
- For lead-acid batteries, it is important that the absorption time is short during shallow discharges to prevent battery overcharging. After a deep discharge, the absorption time automatically increases to ensure full battery charge.
- The absorption time for lithium batteries is fixed at 2 hours by default.
- Alternatively, constant output voltage can be selected.
Remote on/off
A remote on/off switch or relay contact can be connected to the two-pole connector. Alternatively, the H terminal (right) of the two-pole connector can be switched to the positive battery pole, or the L terminal (left) of the two-pole connector can be switched to the negative battery pole (or vehicle ground, for example).
All models are short-circuit protected and can be connected in parallel for increased output current
The number of parallel-connected units is unlimited.
High-temperature protection.
Output current is reduced at high ambient temperature.
IP43 protection
When installed with screw terminals facing downward.
