Yuasa REC80-12I Battery 12 V (80 Ah)

Backup 12 V, 80 Ah lead-acid battery in VRLA (AGM) design suitable for cyclic applications, but also for UPS, EZS, EPS etc. It features a construction with internal pressure regulation using valves (VRLA - valve regulated lead acid = valve-regulated lead-acid batteries). The REC series of traction batteries achieves up to double the lifespan compared to standard VRLA batteries. An extra-strong grid ensures very high cyclic durability (around 5 years or 1400 cycles at 25% D.O.D = depth of discharge 25%).

Advantages of VRLA batteries:

  • Absolutely maintenance-free (in terms of water replenishment)
  • Much longer cyclic lifespan than conventional batteries

Batteries are primarily intended for the following applications:

  • Powering electric motors (golf carts, fishing boats, etc.)
  • Recreational vehicles (campers, trailers, external power sources)
  • Boats, yachts, sailboats (for electric propulsion and onboard appliances)
  • Solar devices (cyclic charging and discharging – solar energy accumulated in the battery)
  • Mobile traffic control systems, traffic lights, warning signs
  • Powering electric motors for electric bikes, scooters, etc.
  • Toys, children's scooters, ride-on toys, children's mini motorcycles

Battery maintenance:

The cyclic lifespan of the battery is approximately 600 cycles / 50% D.O.D. (50% D.O.D. = depth of discharge 50%) at 20°C. To achieve optimal battery life in cyclic operation, it is necessary to respect the maximum allowed depth of discharge of 80% D.O.D. specified by standard ČSN EN61044.
During longer storage periods of batteries, continuous charging is necessary. Capacity loss is approximately 3% per month at a storage temperature of 20°C.
Operating temperature range: charging 0 to 40°C, discharging -15 to 40°C, storage -15 to 50°C. Prolonged exposure of batteries to temperature extremes shortens their lifespan.
