An access point in robust design, with 360° coverage, integrated LTE6 modem, GPS support, and LoRa protocol. Operates on the 2.4 GHz frequency with support for 802.11b/g/n standards.
Suitable not only for outdoor spaces but also for indoor environments like halls, lobbies, or vehicles. The device is equipped with two internal LTE antennas, but you can add external antennas of your choice for even better coverage using u.FL connectors. The 2.4 GHz antenna has a gain of 2.5 dBi and supports 2×2 MIMO. It features three SIM slots with configurable options (automatic roaming, operator switching) and two miniPCIe slots, one reserved for LTE and the other with a LoRa gateway card (Long Range).
Its rugged rubberized body with IP54 protection, temperature resistance from -40 °C to +70 °C, and special wall mount make it perfect for almost any installation. The unit comes with Mikrotik's RouterOS software with an L4 license, allowing it to be used as an access point. Power options are as flexible as they come – there's a standard DC connector (12–30 V), passive PoE (12–30 V), and automotive (automotive) connector available.
LoRa is one of the wireless networking protocols used in the Internet of Things (IoT) world.
LoRaWAN (Long Range Wide Area Network) is another low-power wireless networking protocol designed for inexpensive and secure bidirectional communication in the Internet of Things. It utilizes bands up to 1 GHz and the transmission speed ranges from 0.3 kb/s to 50 kb/s.
Communication between end devices and gateways is spread across different frequency bands and transmission speeds. The choice of data transmission speed is a compromise between communication range and message length. Individual communication streams with different transmission speeds do not interfere with each other (due to spread spectrum technology) and create a set of "virtual" channels to increase gateway capacity.
To maximize the battery life of end devices and overall network capacity, the LoRaWAN network server manages the data transmission rate and RF output for each end device individually, through the Adaptive Data Rate (ADR) system.
LoRaWAN distinguishes several device classes: Class A – end devices support bidirectional communication (each uplink is followed by two windows for receiving data) Class B – in addition to the "enforced" downlink of class A, devices of this class open extra receiving windows at set times Class C – receiving windows are open almost continuously and close only during transmission
