The Victron MultiPlus is a combination of an inverter and a charger in one elegant package. Its range of features includes a pure sine wave inverter, adaptive charging, PowerAssist hybrid technology, and other features for integration into various types of systems.
One AC Input
The MultiPlus is equipped with one AC input for connection to the grid or a generator, for example. If two AC inputs are required, then the Quattro unit should be chosen.
Two AC Outputs
The MultiPlus is equipped with two AC outputs. The main AC1 output ensures uninterrupted power supply. For example, in UPS mode, the MultiPlus takes over the power supply of connected appliances (in less than 20 milliseconds) in case of a grid or generator failure.
The second output is functional only when an AC input (grid/generator) is available. Loads that would quickly deplete the batteries, such as a water heater, can be connected to this output and will be powered only from the AC source (second output available on models with a power rating of 3kVA and higher).
Four-Stage Charging and Two Battery Charging Outputs
The main output provides powerful battery charging through the "adaptive charging" system. The software manages a three-stage automatic charging process to suit the battery state and adds a fourth charging stage - maintenance charging. In addition to this, the MultiPlus can charge a second battery using an independent charging output intended, for example, for the starter battery of a generator. The MultiPlus is designed to charge all types of lead-acid, alkaline, and lithium batteries.
Practically Unlimited Power with Parallel Operation
Up to 6 MultiPlus units can operate in parallel to achieve higher power. For example, 6× 24/5000/120 inverters provide 25 kW / 30 kVA of power and 720 A of charging capacity.
Three-Phase Operation
Three units of the same type can be configured for three-phase operation. But that's not all: up to six sets of three units can be connected in parallel.
Unique PowerAssist Feature
The MultiPlus prevents overloading of a power-limited AC source, such as a current-limited electrical connection. If overloading of the input AC source is imminent, it will first automatically reduce the battery charging current. If still necessary, in the second step, the output AC current will be boosted using current from the battery.
Solar Energy
The MultiPlus can be used in off-grid systems as well as grid-connected photovoltaic systems. While the MultiPlus is not equipped with an input for PV panels, it is designed to work with MPPT controllers (for DC-coupled systems) or grid inverters (for AC-coupled systems).
System Configuration
Remote Monitoring and System Configuration
Monitor and control your system locally (LAN) or remotely via the internet from anywhere in the world using the free VRM app and the free VRM portal.
Access can be from a phone, tablet, laptop, or computer for various operating systems. There is no end to the level of control; using one of the following control panels, you have system monitoring and configuration available from anywhere in the world.
Hybrid ESS – Energy Storage System Mode
This mode is only for photovoltaic installations with an available grid connection (GC), requiring maximum utilization of solar energy combined with the normal grid and the possibility of storing excess energy in batteries.
